PRESS RELEASE- CDC GAMBIA CALLS FOR PROTEST IN LONDON
Under the auspices of Campaign for Democratic Change Gambia (CDCG), a number of Gambian groupings in The United Kingdom are holding a protest match in London against recent events in Gambia. These include the unconstitutional and unilateral withdrawal of the Gambia from the Commonwealth of Nations; the Gambian President’s diatribe directed at the Mandinka ethnicity of the Gambia with intent to sow seeds of tribal disharmony; the continuing arrest, abduction and detention of Gambians without due process.
The Demonstration further compliments protests carried out recently by Gambians and friends of the Gambia in Washington DC and New York. The demonstration aims to showcase the Human Rights abuses in Gambia and disregard for The Rule of Law.
