On January 26th 2015, Gambians in London, Senegal, Seattle and Washington DC will hold protest marches to end dictatorship in the Gambia. As we speak, the Jammeh administration is using the attempted December 30th coup as a cover to continue its brutality against the Gambian people. Scores of Gambians have been rounded up and detained incommunicado just because they happen to be related or know the alleged insurgents.
The Diaspora Gambians strongly feel that the action by the Obama administration to charge two activists with violating the neutrality act is an affront to our fight to free our country from tyranny. Additionally, this unfortunate undertaking by the US has emboldened a very paranoid and dangerously unstable tyrant to further abrogate the rights of the Gambian people with impunity.
We are therefore appealing to all Justice loving people to join us on January 26, 2015 at the U.S. Department of Justice
950 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW
Washington, DC 20530-0001
Time: 11am to 4pm
To demand US actions to end dictatorship, Human Rights violations and to drop the tyrant-appeasing charges against Mr. Cherno Njie and Papa Faal.
