Dad –So long a letter,
I will keep mine short,
I will keep mine lovely,
I will keep mine humorous,
I will keep mine memorable.
Who have a wonderful dad like me?
Without shyness, you raise your hands,
My two hand up first,
I can see your many hands up,
Yes, that is called father’s tribute.
Many years ago, some smile hit me daily,
His shadows never left me for a minute,
I could see immeasurable love on his face,
Proud of me, was an underestimation,
He would coach, hail and at times punish.
Dad –So long a letter,
I missed your coaching at the farm and cattle,
I missed everything, even the light scolding when I was wrong,
I missed how you loved and make us feel responsible,
I missed how you make me grow to love good over evil.
Dad –So long a letter,
May the Lord continue to bless you,
That Lord who defeated the Pharaoh with Moses’ sword,
That lord will strike off and good will reign
Till again, hopefully soon, and I love you dad!
