July 22nd will mark 22 years of tyranny under the APRC Junta spearheaded by Yahya Jammeh. All Gambians and human rights sympathisers are being notified of a protest in London and Edinburgh on Friday, July 22nd to denounce the Jammeh Regime.
The protest will be used to highlight the catalogue of human rights violations over the past 22 years which MUST STOP, the recent killing of Solo Sandeng, the continued incarceration of Ousainou Darbo & co and many more.
It is planned for protest to be held outside the Nigerian High Commission. This will be an opportunity to highlight the role of Nigerian Judges who continue to hand unconstitutional judgments at the expense of law abiding Gambian citizens. A petition will be handed out to them and this will followed by a press conference.
We’re urging all Gambians, Friends and Activists to assemble at the Trafalgar Square outside South Africa House by 12 Midday. The protest march to the Nigerian High Commission will commence soon after prayers and chanting.
Attendees are encouraged to share and tweet photos on Social Media using #UKGambia. More information can be found on the Facebook group (Gambians in UK for Peace and Justice).
