To Allah we all come from and to him we shall all return. A young Gambian full of love, well loved by his family, friends and community Momodou Lamin Bojang commonly known to friends as Dr. Bojang passed away from a sudden illness in Seattle Washington. Dr. Bojang who hails from Bakau and the son to legendary Dembo Bojang aka Dembo by-force and Arret Bojang was 44 years old when he met his unexpected demise. He passed away on Monday December 23rd, 2013 from a sudden illness.
Dr.’s passing shocked his Seattle Community who upon receiving the sad news turned out in hundreds at a town hall to mourn the sudden passing of their friend and love one. Many described him as a “private citizen” who loved his family and friends. He was full of life, outgoing and an ambitious young man who worked hard and took care of his family.
Dr.’s sister Yassin Bojang who currently resides in Madison Wisconsin in paying respect to her dearest brother called him “not only my most loving brother but my closest friend” He was the best person, most caring, humbled and he loves everybody since his childhood” We will miss him dearly she added.
Momodou Lamin Bojang also commonly known as Lamin La –Aret in Bakau was a loving father, a caring husband who loves his community. During his early adulthood in Bakau he was famous for playing soccer – playing for Steve Biko in the late 80s to early 90s. He immigrated to the United States in 1993, briefly residing in New York then what became his favorite city Seattle Washington. He is survived by a wife and two young daughters.
