Gambia’s controversial dictator Yahya Jammeh has not only threatened to pull out The Gambia from the African Union, after blaming the body for being “western stooges and puppets” over the AU’S apparent silence to denounce the genocide taking place at the Mediterranean Sea, Jammeh also vowed that his government is going to institute legal action against the European Union for the death of Gambian migrants, who lost their lives in the sea few weeks ago, while trying to illegally resettle to the West through the back way, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. Mr. Jammeh was speaking on Saturday before a sizable crowd of his party supporters. He repeatedly lambasted the AU for abdicating its duties to the people of the African continent and therefore called for the disbandment of the AU.
“If the AU is not defending Africa, the Gambia is not going to be a member of the AU. The AU has not convened any meeting to talk about this (the genocide taking place in the Mediterranean Sea). All we are talking about is western imposed agenda. We are going to rethink the type of AU we want. This one, I don’t think it is serving the interest of Africa. We are going to replace it with another organization,” Jammeh said adding that he is going to team up with young crop of African leaders, who will stand up against western domination and imperialism. Jammeh told his supporters that the new body that would replace the AU, is going to consist of sincere, patriotic, visionary, and revolutionary leaders, who would not succumb to western manipulation.
He noted that he just wanted to give Gambians a heads up before he would pull out the country from the AU. He said he doesn’t want Gambia’s breakaway with the AU to come as a surprise to her citizens; hence he deems it imperative to explain to Gambians why The Gambia should cease to become a member of the AU.
“Visionary Africans created the OAU that gave birth to the AU—for the defense of Africa. If the AU is not defending Africa, the Gambia is not going to be part of the AU. The OAU liberated Africa. If the AU wants to take us back to colonialism and slavery, and sell us back to the west; we are going to dismantle it and shatter it into pieces,” Jammeh bragged.
Jammeh noted that his hope for the AU to serve Africa’s interest has been dashed away because the body has failed to answer to his call to hold the Europeans responsible for the genocide taking place in the Mediterranean Sea.
“Unfortunately, when I raised the issue at the UN, most of my colleagues were afraid of the west, because of the aid they get; that’s they don’t want to collaborate with me. I don’t care whether they support me or not, but Gambia on our own, we will take legal action against the Europeans. I don’t give a damn. And if it fails, we are going to take very drastic action of our own choice against the killing of Gambians in the Mediterranean Sea. We are not going to tolerate this nonsense,” Jammeh threatens.
Mr. Jammeh also vowed to avenge a recent plan reached by the European Union to sink migrant boats trying to illegally resettle in Europe through the back way. He warns that any attempt to sink Gambia’s boat would amount to the declaration of war by the Europeans against the tiny nation of The Gambia. Jammeh also said his government is going to physically retaliate against such actions. Although, he would not explain into details as to how he intends to avenge such actions.
“Let me warn the European Union: if they do that and kill one Gambian (belahi walahi tala hi), while swearing… I will retaliate this time; physically we are going to retaliate because if you have the capability to detect them; arrest them, and find out who they are. Because you cannot just go like what the Americans are doing sending drones to bomb people, who have done nothing; bombing weeding. If you bomb any of the Gambia’s coast is a declaration of war. If you suspect any vessel; arrest it, search it and find out what’s going on because not all the boats in the Atlantic are smugglers. But to use military force to sink African boats; that’s a declaration of war; Try it and see; it is a declaration of war; for which we will retaliate,” Jammeh vowed.
The Gambian Defacto dictator also faulted the west’s war on terror. He accuses America and England, including some NATO countries of double standards. He claimed that in the “white man’s” world, Africans and Arabs are considered as mere frogs—while charging that the lives of the two are never valued. Hence, Jammeh questioned the west’s sincerity and honesty when it preaches the respect for human rights.
“The group called ISIL have slaughtered thousands and thousands of people in Syria, Iraq and around the world and NATO never said anything; America never said anything. They never get up and say we have to do something about it. They never said anything until ISIL started bombing them. Are six westerners better than six thousand Africans? What about the thousands of the Arabs, who are slaughtered by ISIL? Are they not human beings? They never called the Arabs to tell them let form a coalition against ISIL. But as soon as they slaughtered six westerners; that’s was the time as if a nuclear bomb was going to drop; oh we have to do something about ISIL; ISIL brutality.. So only when a white man dies that is the time to fight for human rights; when Arabs and blacks die, they are just like frogs… This is not going to happen. This world is going to change—whether the west likes it or not. They must respect us for who we are, or we will teach them a lesson,” Jammeh threatens.
Mr. Jammeh also talked about migrants, who are being trafficked through trucks to the US and other western nations, and yet the EU has never contemplated using military action to suppress such sojourns. He therefore wondered why the EU should come up with a decision to sink African boats trying to cross to Europe.
The Kanilai born despot also used the meeting to threaten would be coup plotters particularly dissidents residing overseas. He warned that any attempt to overthrow his regime would be crushed mercilessly. Jammeh even mocked the mutineers, who were killed during the December 30, 2014 failed State House, saying that they died like dogs.
“Do you know what happened on December 30? Let me make it very clear: The attackers died like dogs; their collaborators would die like dog; anyone who sponsored them would die like a dog. I am assuring you of that because I have the almighty Allah on my side. I am not afraid of anything. Because they want the resources in this country that’s why they are supporting these goats. A goat will never lead The Gambia,” Jammeh fumed.
Dictator Jammeh noted that the west’s preoccupation is to sponsor folks who can sell their mamas for chicken change just to allow their backers to loot the nation’s resources, but Jammeh vowed that to “his death body that will not happen in this country in billion years.” He added that The Gambia will never have a puppet leader, who would be manipulated by the west. He told his supporters that he is ready to die for The Gambia and Africa, if that means standing up against western manipulation. Jammeh maintained that he will never change or tone down his rhetoric against the west.
“There will be tit for tap relationship between my government and the west from now on. They thought that I will mellow down. I will never change. That’s why I am addressing them in English so that they will know what I am talking about. No one can manipulate us. We will never accept their hidden agendas,” Jammeh said.
Jammeh completely avoided commenting on gays and lesbians this time around after he was censored last week by the White House National Security adviser Madam Rice for his hate speech against the gay community. Ms. Rice, in a statement said, the Obama government is reviewing further decisions to be taken against the Jammeh government after the revocation of Gambia’s inclusion into AGOA.
