Folks –here we go again, it is all about sharing and inspiring others. If you choose face book or discussion forums as a part time job, you get to get these things out. Post some pictures, quote some Malcolm X somewhere, share a link from CNN, share some eulogies of family, and make noise about injustices and power excesses. Face book and discussion forum interaction could be both rewarding on the side of awareness and education and being at par with modern world, it could be as well be very addictive and a total distraction. I love the networking part, where one connects with others in a spirit of unity, exchanging blessings and the love for which we all yearn for. The truth be told that writing and activism is a hobby, despite what other professional career or education you may be blessed with. Writing is very creative, beautiful, especially where you possess your full freedom, independence and expressing yourself the way you want. If you are here for a different reason, I say adios!
Here comes another Friday again. I don’t know why but I personally love the Fridays despite some of the odds it brought in life experience. If you ask me to choose the best day, it is more than likely a Friday, and that sometimes depends on the plans my adorable hobbies have in mind.
A recollection from my late grandmother (Mama –RIP my love) has it that my mother (Daa Hawa -RIP) was born on a Friday. The odd is that Daa died on a Friday as well, some 17 years ago. That is too long to forgive a Friday though I won’t forget. Despite that, I am not going into shunning the day or having anything at the back of mind about it. I love the Friday unconditionally and for many other rewarding reasons.
From a religious standpoint, to which we all as practicing (I like to use the word ‘trying’ due to human fallibility) Muslims endeavor greatly to fulfill as obligatory, an authentic narration quoted from the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) has it that Adam (SAW), humanity’s grandfather, was created on this day, he entered heaven on this day, he was kicked out on this day and day of judgment will be on this same day (Imam Muslim). For the reasons why Omega the All knower designed the day like that, I am the least capable to dispense that knowledge, so I suggest you ask one of your local Islamic teachers.
From other known perspectives, it welcomes the weekend, a day when working families and students gets to rest and have time with friends and family members. It brings a whole spirit that is so uplifting and refreshing that everyone yearns for it. I know I do. I know many others who do as well. You the one reading this might be another one as well. Here we are counting on the numbers of all those that love the Friday.
I almost forget that it is still Wednesday here and still a day to reach to another Friday. Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday gave you their blessings already. You are alive, healthy, blessed and moving about business, probably endorsing some right, probably not. Not fair right? If the Wednesday or Thursday was able to talk, we know it would have complained. I personally say, forgive my bias and it is not my fault.
It is now enough with the thought provoking piece about the Friday. You choose what you want to do with your days or even may have other better reasons to love or despise the Friday. I am not saying a word about it now. If you didn’t realize already or wondered why beating about the bush on merely a Friday, which is just another day, I was just sending my late mother a warm tribute and prayers. She did the best she can to support my family and a heroine of her time, whose efforts make me proud, whose smile brightens my life, and whose memory continue to live and stream in the four corners of the world. Daa, just in case another opportunity is there, I just want to say: Thank you and may you continue to peacefully rest in Allah’s most beautiful Hands whom I entrusted your soul in till we see again…Amen.
Just in case this tribute inspires you, feel free to send your mothers unconditional love, prayers and blessings. This is a win-win. I am extending the blessing of this tribute to all other lovely mothers and fathers and this will possibly inspire father’s tribute as well. : )
Warm regards, Yero.
