The Earth Cries Again!
By Yero Jallow
It was such an awakening thunder screaming
It shook the whole world again
With vibrancy as it never happened on earth’s planet
I woke up to see and hear the earth’s loud cry
She filled her muscular lungs with moist air
And like a loudspeaker or flute, she thunder-echoed
The passing by wind too stopped to sympathize
As I stood there gazing and wondering all by myself
Who must have whopped the earth?
It didn’t take long before she showed her face
She was bruised, skinned and tortured
Her one time beautiful face was gone
Her smiley vegetation burnt to ashes
Her flowing oceans drained to rock bottom
And her beautiful landscape flattened up
So she cried nonstop with blood oozing profusely
As I stood there gazing and wondering all by myself
Who must have whopped the earth?
