The Musicians Union of The Gambia has on Tuesday 29th December held its National Congress at the Ebunjan Theatre in Kanifing.
The Congress which was attended by Stakeholders in the industry was characterised by reports from the Out-Going executive whose programs and financial reports were done by Sheriffo Kanuteh out-going Secretary General whiles the report of the Programs and activities of the Interim Executive was done by Momodou M.Sarr (Pa Modou).
The congress after reports then proceeded to review and adopt the draft constitution which has been in the making through the then interim committee. Elections of executive members was conducted through a Three man Independent Electoral Commission with the following persons voted into various position as per the provisions in the newly adopted Constitution of MUSIGAM;
Momodou M. Sarr (Pa Modou) – President
Babucarr Sambou – Vice President
Ali Cham – Secretary General
Lamin Jammeh -Assistant Secretary
Muhammed Sumareh – PRO
Mbemba Saho – Program Manager
Martin Jeng – Treasurer
Haddy Jadama – Assistant Treasurer
The new executive will be in office for a term of three (3) years as per the just adopted constitution instead of four(4) years.
