INVITATION: AFRICAN CURRICULUM ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE TO BE HELD IN BANJUL THE GAMBIA 27th – 30th MAY 2020
The African Curriculum Association (ACA), in collaboration with the Curriculum Research, Evaluation and Development Directorates (CREDD) of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (MoBSE) The Gambia, and the Curriculum Cluster at African Union would like to cordially invite you to the year 2020 ACA conference on the theme: Education Technology and the Alignment of School Curriculum, Teacher Education and Learning Assessment.

- Teacher Education and Training
- Learning assessment

The conference objectives are:
1.To develop a common understanding of how the mismatch between school curriculum, teacher education and learning assessment impact on the quality of education.
2.To explore the potential of technology and innovation in enhancing curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
3.To recommend actions on the application of technology in facilitating the process of aligning school curriculum, teacher education and leaning assessment in Africa.
The time for receiving abstracts has been extended to 31st December 2019 in order to get various papers on the above theme. The good papers will be further reviewed to have them published in the African Curriculum Association Journal called African Curriculum Journal.
The conference will bring together curriculum centres across Africa, curriculum specialists, education policymakers, administrators, teacher educators, universities, the United Nations agencies, other multilateral and bilateral organisations, non-governmental and civil society organisations all over the world.
The programme will include plenary and panel presentations, syndicate work, discussions, specialised seminars and workshops to share knowledge and best practices on the theme and sub-themes. The ACA members will also have the opportunity to conduct Annual General Assembly as provided for in the ACA constitution, including introduction of the new association members.
The conference fee is $250 per person. Participants are kindly asked to bear the cost of their travel to and from The Gambia and to budget for their hotel accommodation of 80 – 90 U.S. Dollars per night. Food and internal travel will be provided during the days of the conference along with other conference logistics.
Your will be required to send your passport information page in advance to facilitate the issuance of Visa upon arrival if need be.
