Today, I want to congratulate you doubly! Firstly, I want to congratulate you on your fulfilling the fifth rite of Islam – performing the Hajj in the Holy Lands of Makkah and Madina. May Allah, the Sublime, accept all the prayers offered during this most sacred journey! May the Beloved He accept your Hajj and grant you the ability to live the rest of your life as a true believer should. Even though you have instructed that the title Alhagie not be added to your name (an excellent sign of wisdom and humility on your part) may Allah indeed make you an Alhagie in the truest sense. One who has performed the Hajj and is successful learns to be humble in front of his Lord, learns to sacrifice for the good of all, learns to serve the Creation of Allah wholeheartedly. May you be such an Alhagie!
The second congratulation is on your appointment of a Vice President. Ideal circumstances would have required you to appoint a Vice President much earlier but it is said ‘better late than never’. Now that you have come around to do it, I personally believe that you have made a good choice. Madam Fatoumatta Jallow-Tambajang is indeed the right person to be appointed vice president. She is patriotic, knowledgeable and has the experience and expertise to be a good candidate for the job.
Now Mr President, you have passed one of the hurdles that was delaying our progress and the development of the country. I would expect – and urge – that your new vice president presses on to ensure that all the things that were missing are now put to the forefront. Her experience and connections internationally, should enable her attract a lot of goodwill and investment for our country. Again, her wealth of experience should enable her to advise you well so that we will not observe any missteps in your administrative journey.
Once again Congratulations!
Have a Good Day Mr President….
