Seattle, WA – An action-packed evening featuring the best of the Northwest African performance artists along with spicy West African cuisine, and original products made in the villages of The Gambia will be available at the African Marketplace.
Geared to engage families and children, this festival is an opportunity for our citizens to learn more about Africa. For all of those people that are curious and interested in Africa and for those familiar with the artists involved.
Best of all, this is a benefit, a place where funds raised will go toward the expansion of a nursery school & garden program in the village of Kerewan in The Gambia. This is a village where children are under-enrolled in school and who are suffering from stunted growth, a symptom of severe malnutrition.
