The Gambia to Host the 9th Annual African Consumer Protection Dialogue


Kotu, February 12, 2018 – The 9th Annual African Consumer Protection Dialogue conference is slated to take place in The Gambia March 6-9, 2018. The event is organized by the Gambia Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (GCCPC) and the Public Utility Regulatory Authority (PURA) in collaboration with the United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

This year’s conference is titled: “Protecting Every Consumer in a Digital Age.”

The three-day event will bring together African Consumer Protection and Competition agencies, experts, civil society groups and other relevant stakeholders to discuss and evaluate the effectiveness of policies, existing laws, cross border cooperation and means of better protecting consumers in the digital world.

The conference will avail The Gambia the opportunity to forge relationships with relevant players in the sector, share best practices in legislative and enforcement approaches to consumer protection and competition matters.
