PRESS RELEASE
With every restoration of democracy movement, it is the will and power of the people that make it successful. For GDF – Gambia Democracy Fund, credit goes to the donors and the time expended by our abled members. Without you, our achievements would not have been recognizable. Your donations have also provided resources to needy families, including some families and victims of the April 14th, April 16, and May 9th. The adage “to whom much is given much isexpected” makes us believe that Gambians everywhere are doing their best to help our country. We appreciate you!
Fellow Gambians, Around this time last year, we made a pledge that when the opposition parties come together, we will do whatever we can to supplement their efforts. Heeding that call, many of you donated money towards coalition building and GDF still has that money on hand. With the emerging of new presidential candidates and their speeches reiterating the importance of building a single coalition to defeat President Yahya Jammeh, we are optimistic that a coalition is on the horizon. In that vein, we would like to inform you that once a coalition is in place, GDF will come back to you to support our efforts for a better Gambia.
Gambia is in dire straits and it is our moral obligation to continue using our resources to salvage our country. Freedom is definitely not free, but how we participate in restoring democracy in our beloved Gambia can get us to that destination. We will provide information as we become aware. Thank you.
