As the Dictator becomes more anxious about his loosening grip on power, the situation in Banjul is getting more uncertain. With continuing plots and schemes, the dictator has not spared any effort in his need to undermine the voice of the Gambian people. One could think this is just another showcase of his ignorance of the law but we believe his brazen disdain of Gambians has just gotten to a new level. The latest of these schemes is a plot to assassinate President-elect Adama Barrow, an attempt to commit genocide by purchasing a massive supply of machetes supplied to the Green Boys with the intent to murder and dismember the Mandinka tribe in the Gambia. Furthermore, reports of an alliance with Mama Kandeh with whom he will use in a new role as Judas Iscariot to subvert the will of the voters. These unsettling developments though taunting, are a show of desperation of the madman who is struggling to come to terms with the present reality of inevitable regime change in Banjul.
Just as it has been widely speculated on social media for the past weeks, we can now substantiate that Jammeh has been trying to concoct a state of emergency just to halt the inauguration of Barrow. Some members of the military in the Gambia have been sending reports of closed door meetings with the focus of getting rid of the president elect. It must be of great disappointment to the regime that the president elect is currently with the other heads of states until it is safe to return to Gambia on Inauguration day. The regime had little intelligence of Ecowas plans to remove the president elect out of the country rending all their provocations futile. This new twist has the outgoing administration clutching at straws for their next move.
In recent days, marks of “X” have been seen in some exterior gates of some homes with reports reaching us that these are the targeted families earmarked for attacks if ECOWAS try to enforce the results of the elections. The Green Boys and the Jungulars have allegedly been purchasing large number of Machetes to carry out these attacks specifically aimed at a certain tribe. As seen in the previous wars in Rwanda, Sudan, and Liberia where genocide had occurred, machetes were used as the primary weapon of choice by the governments due to the fact that such weapons are hard to trace back to the regimes.
In another attempt to deny the people their votes, there have been recent alleged reports of President Jammeh using Mama Kandeh in an alliance to have their votes combined by Parliament allowing him to remain in power. Reports alleged that Mama Kandeh and Pateh Jallow have been frequenting the state house in recent days. Many remember Pateh Jallow as the disgraced former deputy director of the drug squad accused of embezzlement resulting in seizure of his assets and travel documents. The meetings with the President appears to be going to plan evidenced by the return of Pateh’s assets and travel documents. Mama Kandeh for his part in the scheme, will be the Vice President and heir apparent to the presidency and due to his anger with Adama Barrow winning is willing to go into an alliance with Jammeh which could spell the end of his political ambitions. Perhaps Kandeh does not believe that he has any future in politics but to succumb to greed will leave him on the wrong side of history.
We have seen President Jammeh’s ego bruised, he has been sleep deprived from endless scheming leading to bizarre midnight TV appearances with the most incoherent speeches. He’s made promises that the Mandinkas will never have the presidency. One can only wonder whether Barrow’s eloquence, mannerisms and being from the Mandinka tribe leaves him with a raging envy he has no power to control. Jammeh is planning to plunge the country into chaos whilst his immediate family members are safely tucked away in the $4M mansion in the U.S. The people must be vigilant and prepare for the worst. Jammeh is not planning on going quietly so it is incumbent on the people of the Gambia to be prepared in the event Jammeh wants to go down with them. So much for pan-Africanism.

You are just spreading lies! Shut up if you do not have anything to write about. Where is the evidence of all the allegations? This is not journalism.
The time frame for Jammeh to weigh his options is slipping fast. He has had ample time to evaluate but he chose to navigate everything the best way he knows how. Whereas the international community recognizes his legitimacy and the sovereignty of the republic of the Gambia, the matter will take another turn once Jammeh’s legal mandate expires with no constitutional resolve. Unless wisdom guides him to stand by his first defeat concession stance or pursue his arguments constitutionally, his future is gloom. The World cannot watch as extra-legal measures are taken to serve personal interest. His fellow African leaders have tried all illegal ways to stay put but they have embarassingly been whisked, frogmatched and paraded in the ICC. What a disgraced way of enjoying your 22-year retirement package? Lets learn from other people’s mistakes, not our’s. Conceeding defeat is not cowardice. There is still a bright future thereafter if wisdom guides you. Weigh out wisely.
