When you the youth’s are being challenged by your family, parents, friends, and others to obey their commands, we say respect them and honor them, but also go with your faith. The teachings from the holy quran tells us in Suratul Luqman chapter 31 verses 14.” And We have enjoined on man (to be dutiful and good) to his parents. His mother bore him in weakness and hardship upon weakness and hardship, and his weaning is in two years give thanks to Me and to your parents, unto Me is the final destination.
15. But if they (both) strive with you to make you join in worship with Me others that of which you have no knowledge, then obey them not, but behave with them in the world kindly, and follow the path of him who turns to Me in repentance and in obedience. Then to Me will be your return, and I shall tell you what you used to do.”(Darusalam)
It is very clear that you should love, respect, obey, and be kind to your parents, but when your faith has been compromised to fearing man more than God, it is very clear that you should follow God’s way! I Momodou Njai will still love, cherish, and try to maintain a relationship with my parents, but will also stay firm with God for it is God the Almighty I ask for guidance. I know many of you face the same battles and struggles, but basing your facts on the teachings of the Holy books that we hold dear to our souls would be ideal for it is God that created us. In Christianity and other religions, the golden rule applies to all of us. “Do on to others as you would want them to do on to you.” Also, that “I am my brothers keeper, and my sisters keeper.” We believe in what we are doing, and it is all for peace! We should all care for one another and know that we are all in this together. You could have been Fatou Camara, or Amadou Sanneh, or Ebou Jobe and Mamut Ceesay! When the very people that say that there is only one God and he is the one that should be feared, ask yourselves if you are practicing what you preach! When others want you to protest or march with them, ask them if they are willing to join you! When others that fight for you to obtain freedom, ask yourselves if you are willing to fight for them! When you ask God to forgive you, ask yourself if you are willing to forgive others!
Too many times we are caught up in selfish interests, and worldly things that we forget that we shall return to our creator. You the youth’s are off age now to be responsible enough to know what is right or wrong. We urge you to use your God given talent to dismiss any false claims of idol worshipping, fear mongering, and this belief that if you don’t do everything your parents and government say, that you are doomed. You are the best of humanity that God created, and when you go around billboards and posters saying, “it is a sacred duty to vote for President Jammeh,” know that the only sacred duty you have is to God and no man!! It is not by mistake that God brought President Jammeh in our lives, but a blessing to see how evil we can be to our own people. God said he will test us by giving us wealth, disease, hardship, and even death to see who believes in his kingdom. It is now apparent that President is worshipped on GRTS and the Gambia. He worships idols and spirits which are deviations from Islam. Not only do people praise him sometimes before even mentioning God, but they run to his clinic for all reasons. The people have turned him into a Saint, and a spiritualtual being in comparison to God, for the fear and practices are exactly what God wants us to.avoid. People touching the water he spills for his blessings, and praising him before God is devious and a mischaracterization from the true meaning of Islam. It is now a blessing that God has also ordained in us the people to come and liberate our people. The only one we shall heavily rely on is God and our sensible brains that will coordinate with everyone that is organized, and wants a peaceful Gambia. We will work on democratic reforms that will respect your individual rights as citizens, reforms that will develop the country, and reforms that will represent a true democracy of , by, and for the people so help ud God.
I want you the youths to go and join the rallies headed by the opposition parties in solidarity to listen and hear from the words of concerned Gambians! Be it you are from APRC,PDOIS,, and other parties,. When a gathering is done in good faith, go and listen, but fear not what one might tell or do on to you!!Raise your voices loud and clear in support and speak about your dismay! Support the organiztions chanting for democracy and the media that tells truth without fear or favor! Have faith and be steadfast in your beliefs!!In shaa Allah( God willing), we will all unite as one people!May God bless you all and the Gambia
