Ebou Bah alias Pullo Gainako, a young rising music star of Senegambia, recently met Baaba Maal, in his effort to expand his music talents. Born in Sintet, Ebou grew up on the farm, where he herded animals and worked on millet farms under the supervision of his uncle.
Asked what inspired him to music, Pullo Gainako have the following to say: ” My music came from the bush while herding cows. Whenever I was lonely, I entertained myself with songs which inspired me to the music industry. My next step, i met Njie B, a reggae star, in 2006. I acquired the title Gambia’s ‘Jah Lion’ in show of my reggae talents. I learnt and added reggae as an outstanding skill. From there, I was blessed to meet Ebou Kuts in 2011, another Senegambia instrumentalist, who exposed me and developed my naturality from a raw material to a saleable fine good ready for the international market. I write, sing, compose, play the guitar, piano, and different drums.”
On Tuesday January 24th 2017, Pullo Gainako met his dream to partner, Baaba Maal. Baaba Maal have accepted the young talent into his music band, “Daande lenyol” which is known for African music in the international music industry. Pullo Gainako is so impressed and said, “this is what I have been yearning for all these years. I am so excited.”
Asked what supports he needs, Pullo Gainako said, ” I certainly need media exposure to show my talents. I am calling on people interested both locally and intertionally to help with financial sponsorship and partner with me as I bring you all African music in its original form.”
