Gambian film producer, writer and social critic Prince Bubacarr Aminata Sankanu has been appointed Ambassador of the Gambia’s two premier Sarahulleh Youth Development Organization (SYDO) and the Dynamic Sarahulleh Association For Change and Development (DSACD).
This was confirmed during the celebration of the annual “Soninkara Laada Koiye” cultural day of SYDO at the Alliance Franco-Gambienne and the ongoing “Nti Communities Tournament” and related events of the Dynamic Sarahullehs, operating from Churchills Town.
In the appointment letter to Prince Sankanu, SYDO says they hold him “in high esteem as one of the committed, dedicated and determined members of the Sarahulleh Community. You have the authority to mobilize people for the organization according to the supreme interest of the Sarahulleh Community…”
Accepting his appointment as Ambassador, Prince Bubacarr Aminata Sankanu says “XA NAWARI, thank you, the Executives of Dynamic Sarahulleh Association for Change and Development (DSACD) and Sarahulleh Youth Development Organization (SYDO) for appointing me AMBASSADOR of your respective Powerhouses of Sarahulleh/Nti Unity, Pride, Pluralism and Advancement. I am humbled and deeply touched by your confidence in me.”
He goes on “no human being is perfect. I am not a Saint and I am not interested in becoming one but I will do my best within the parametres of my intellectual prowess, expertise, experience, personality, pedigree, international profile and human fallibility to prove myself worthy of the KARAMA and DAROYE you bestowed on me….”
The Sarahulleh Youth Development Organization (SYDO) and the Dynamic Sarahulleh Association For Change and Development (DSAC) are legally-registered youth groups of progressive and productive persons of Sarahulleh heritages in and out of the Gambia.
They are out to complement the development objectives of the government of the day while striving to preserve, promote and develop the useful traditions of the Sarahulleh Civilization without the trappings of the harmful and obsolete practices that could undermine their prosperity as productive members of humanity.
The two groups of young men and women earned the respect of many Sarahullehs at home and abroad by working together in building strong synergies and bonding in their programme implementation and by avoiding dublicity, wastage and unhealthy competition.
