The Gambian President Yahya Jammeh leaves Banjul early hours of Thursday Morning for France. His trip to France was announced on GRTS Wednesday but no reason for his visit was release except that he was being accompanied by his wife Zaninab Jammeh who recently returned from a thanksgiving shopping holiday in the United States. The President is also being accompanied by the Secretary General and newly appointed Minister of the Civil Service – Momodou Sabally.
It has been reported on other sister papers that the President is going to France on a medical treating and he is alleged to have Cancer. Gainako could not verify the validity of the story but we trust that our sister papers have reliably been informed on the purpose of his trip.
Prior to President Jammeh’s unplanned departure from Banjul he appoints Momodou Sabally as Minister of the Civil Service. Jammeh’s departure from Banjul in the middle of the eighth Islamic Conference of Tourism ministers from Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) member states starting Wednesday 4 to 6 December 2013 at the Kairaba Beach Hotel shows that his trip may be an emergency or urgent.
More details of Jammeh’s visit and location of where he will be treated has been disclosed to be at The Val-de-Grâce a military hospital located in the 5th arrondissement of Paris, France address at 74 Boulevard de Port-Royal, 75005 Paris, France (Freedom Newspaper).
