President Adama Barrow was today inaugurated in the capital city of Senegal, Dakar. The historic event, held at the Gambian embassy in Dakar (Senegal), was witnessed by foreign dignitaries, Gambians, Senegalese and other nationalities, gathered a lot of momentum. The event was blocked by outgoing 22-year old dictator, Jammeh, who refused to step down after being defeated by President Barrow. There were a lot of preparations done in the Gambia to see the inauguration being done well, unfortunately aborted by Jammeh’s refusal to step down, and Jammeh continued to explore flimsy constitutional loopholes.
With Barrow’s inauguration today January 19th 2017, Jammeh has now being reduced to a rebel, as a country cannot have two presidents. As we speak, Senegalese forces backed by ECOWAS are in full gears in the Gambia, to boot out Yaya Jammeh, since he insisted that he will not leave. It is not clear how much resistance ECOWAS will encounter, as some Jammeh loyalists in the State guard headed by one Karafa Badjie alias Saul Badjie are believed to poised to fight. Many observers believe that Jammeh is embarrassed and caught into his lies and fetishes. Others said his demystification is making him suicidal.
With the new Government in place, hopefully the coalition Government, will give utmost respect to the governed. Fear, hate, nepotism, state terror, ethnolinguistic profiling, and lawlessness should be now trashed to the dustbins. The new Gambia should have a package for legal redress, where citizen grievances will be registered and arbitrated on.
Frederic Tenden, Senegambian based media consultant witnessed the inauguration and wished Barrow and Gambians well. Mr. Tenden has put up a lot of fight for Gambians and is instrumental in top media reportage in the subregion.

Its game over! Now Barrrow is the bonafide President of the Gambia. We cautioned Jammeh from all corners of Africa to avoid embarassment in the international platform but due to his high headedness he opted for the wayward and ended up damaging his reputation. Let him try to act ignorantly and end up in the ICC. Good luck comrades!
