Press Release: Further Appeal For Help!
In May this year, the management of JollofNews Online Newspaper took the unprecedented decision to make an online appeal for financial assistance for the up keep and maintenance of the website.
In response, a few Gambians and friends of The Gambia such as Michael Scales made some financial donations while many Gambians promised to do something to keep the paper alive.
The donations that were received were used to pay some of our debts with our web host, British Telecom.
However, we still owe our providers an outstanding balance and after weeks of negotiations, our hosts decided to take the paper offline.
JollofNews Management is once again appealing for assistance to get the paper back online.
Donations can be made directly through our PayPal account. Alternatively, those wishing to donate anonymously, as some have in the past, can contact us on +44 (0) 7400130000.
JollofNews Online Newspaper was established in 2010 by exiled Gambian journalists to provide accurate and balanced news as well as to give a voice to Gambians and friends of The Gambia both at home and abroad.
Since it started operation, the paper has been financed and maintained solely by its editorial team who are also trying to keep other life demanding engagement going, including education and family.
