Invitation to an Open Conference
GRAB would like to cordially invite you to a Conference to be held in Birmingham. The main theme of the Conference is “New Gambia: the role of the Diaspora in the New Dispensation”
The conference will be an opportunity to challenge and stimulate The Gambian Diaspora, especially UK based Gambians – the youth in particular, to take a more proactive interest in contributing towards the reconstruction and future development of the Gambia. There will be three topics for discussion by prominent Gambian speakers.
- Religion, civic responsibility and national reconstruction- Dr. Alh. Manta Drammeh
- Role of Gambian Diaspora youths in politics and national reconstruction- Abdoulie Jobe
- Role of Gambian Diaspora based associations in national reconstruction- James Bahoum
This will be followed by an interactive video link with President-elect Adama Barrow, Coalition Members and civil society actors, including #GambiaHasDecided Activists, to address the conference.
Further followed by an interactive panel discussion in which the audience will raise issues and pose questions to a panel, made up of knowledgeable Gambians from diverse backgrounds. The objective of the conference is to commence the discussion and to come out of the discussion, with a better insight of how the Diaspora can contribute positively in the reconstruction of The Gambia for the common good.
