Unconfirmed reports reaching Gainako News this hour alleged that fugitive former Chief of Defense Staff and alleged mastermind behind the 2006 failed Coup Ndure Cham has summarily been executed overnight in Banjul. Gainako cannot substantiate the story as we go to press but has deployed all our arsenals and dependable resources to verify the story from Banjul. Our reliable sources are doing everything humanly possible to confirm the validity or otherwise of the story.
Readers may recalled that the respectable online newspaper thegambiaecho.com broke the news of Ndure Cham’s arrest last week. Following the breaking news various Gambian online media including Gainako investigated the story and indeed confirmed that the former CDS who was residing in neighboring Senegal was indeed in the hands of the Jammeh administration. He was allegedly abducted in Southern Cassamance while en-route to Guinea Business and handed over to the Jammeh administration by MFDC Rebels. Sources familiar with President Jammeh’s lunatic behavior alleged that when he spoke to GRTS during his annual Koriteh interview alleging that Gambian dissidents will return to Gambia faster than they know, was a signal that he already had Ndure Cham in his net.
The news of Ndure Cham’s alleged execution if confirmed will be another blow to the Gambian struggle against Jammeh’s regime and a nail in the coffin of President Jammeh and his regime. This will once again confirm to the international community that President will continue to kill Gambian citizens without due process. The international community, Rights groups and Gambian dissidents must now come to a logical conclusion that the moratorium to executive prisons that outraged the international community last year has indeed been violated.
Gainako News along side other sister online resources will do everything within our means to validate the story of Ndure Cham’s alleged execution. The international community and rights groups are equally urged to look into the story and verify the execution of Ndure Cham and his denial of due process and justice.
