Breaking News: Early Election Results Shows Coalition Leader (Barrow) Wth A Big Margin!
By Yero Jallow
Incoming election results are more in favor of the Coalition Leader, Adama Barrow, followed by Yaya Jammeh (APRC), and Mamma Kandeh (GDC). So far, the night is too young, and results continue to flow in chunks, even with that, many political analysts predicts that if the night continues like this for the night, there is no doubt that Adama Barrow of the Coalition will win.
This is Jammeh’s 5th term bid for the presidency; and many citizens are showing opposition to Jammeh’s continuity of power. This is due to many reasons which include oppression from Jammeh’s leadership on the people of the Gambia.
Excitement has hit the Gambia; and the power of the people is speaking a clear language, which is to say, it is time for Jammeh to leave. On Wednesday November 30th 2016, Jammeh gave a Presidential Directive decree to shutdown the internet, international phone communication, and other means communication, so as to isolate events in the Gambia from being accessed by Diaspora Gambians and the international community, which is a violation of the election code of conduct. Despite the pandemonium and fear that gripped the Gambia over the lost of communication, citizens still turned out massively in their numbers to cast their votes, a good sign, according to sources close to Gambia’s opposition headed by Adama Barrow.
