WHEN BEAUTY BECOMES UGLY…
I have been keenly following your resurgence lately on all the Gambian online media both print and radio. Without mincing words, you are stepping out of yourself to justify your failed 1981 bloody coup. One thing that age and wisdom should have taught you is a missed opportunity does not make a second coming. Both you and I know that mistakes have been made which resulted in your failure to oust out Jawara from power in 1981 but lessons could have been drawn and learnt from it. Let us take your experience at Guinea Bissau as a case in point.
According to your own narrative, Jammeh masterminded your kidnapping and subsequent poisoning. You went further to assert that Jammeh tried to get you extradited illegally to the Gambia. In the recent past, we have seen history recurring for you in Senegal. Yes you can climb the highest mountain in the world and glorify President Macky Sall in the top of your voice that he is not aware of your unceremonious removal from his country. However, my novice experience has taught me that such a decision of a huge political magnitude which does not only bear lasting and damaging national political repercussion but international outcry will not be carried out without the president’s knowledge. You can jump to bed with that believe Mr Sanyang the choice is entirely yours but for some of us who can distinguish black from white entertain a different view. Let us just agree for the sake of argument that Macky is completely innocent in your unceremonious removal from Senegal.
Now that you have been airlifted to war torn Mali, Is Macky still now aware? If the answer is he is now aware that you have been forcefully removed without his consent what is he doing to correct this shameful act of his security service? Mr Sanyang to set the records straight, I am not here questioning your integrity neither authenticating your claims but drawing your attention to your inability to make hay while the sun is still shining. The edge you now have over Jammeh, Mr Sanyang is not something that comes every day. You either have to make the best of it now or blow it like you did in 31 July 1981. Should the leader smith teach the blacksmith how to strike an iron while it is hot Mr Sanyang? What I am saying is a man of your caliber has a wealth of knowledge, experience and a huge network of international connection. Why are you still letting Jammeh walk all over you even though you are geographically out of his physical reach?
You can go on every day giving out an interview to one media or another but that will never change the fact that Gambians have a divided opinion about you. From the reaction you have on the media spelled that Gambians have divided opinions about you and needless to say that will remain forever the same. Yes, some may forgive you along the way side but that will not mean all Gambians will hope into to van waggon. Jammeh has missed you twice but if you do dot wake up from your sleepless slumber if he strikes again trust me he will not miss. You and I both know Jammeh is sacred of you to the bone. Beside you have a wealth of experience by been in Libya and Liberia. You have seen and done it all. So why are you allowing Jammeh to get away with all the things he is doing to you. Or have you become a toothless bull dog? I know you can do it and there are a lot of us who are ready to join you anywhere in this world to take on Jammeh by all means necessary. Mr Sanyang I am asking you in the name of liberation, justice, peace and solidarity to be that Koukoi Samba Sanyang of 31 July 1981.
When we finish with him then you can prove to the rest of the Gambians that you have always meant well but until then please make the best of the time you have now to show Jammeh you are not just an old big mouth.
