Dear Editor,
I wish to request space in your widely read medium to add mine to your article written about the Bishop of the Methodist Mission in The Gambia, Bishop Hannah Faal. I am a Gambian Methodist resident in United Kingdom and I join many Methodist Men and Women condemning this satanic woman. I totally agree with the author’s take that she has no moral authority to preach from any pulpit, let alone lead a Mission. We Krios are dismayed by her act during the July 22nd so called Revolution celebrations.
Bishop Faal is no stranger to the atrocities committed by Yahya Jammeh on the Gambian people for she lives in The Gambia and for her to ask God to bless a murderer is absolute blasphemy. For my part, I will never ever attend service at the Methodist Church as long as she leads that church. No one Leader of the mission, be it Reverend Pratt, Reverend Roach or Stafford has never stooped this low. She remains in the class of disgrace by her actions and blindness to the injustices in Gambia.
Going by the scriptures from the book of Joshua; “Choose Whom You will Serve14“Now, therefore, fear the LORD and serve Him in sincerity and truth; and put away the gods which your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD. 15“If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” 16 The people answered and said, “Far be it from us that we should forsake the LORD to serve other gods;’
This woman has served the devil Yahya Jammeh and she should resign. If a Church leader can step up before the whole world and pray for a Man that has killed so many people including nine in one day, she should be ashamed of herself. Like we Krio say, “Na water day run pan am, notoe Blood, e nor get one shame.” Let me be clear, all sober Krio people I have spoken to today are utterly dismayed by this latest act by Bishop Faal. I will not even dare put the names she has been called for betraying the true teachings of the Holy book. She is a shame to our church.
It is disheartening to see our moral leaders succumb to political prostitution. If our Religious leaders are corrupted and manipulated by Yahya Jammeh, who will stand up for the people? What bothers me the most is the fact that at all the ceremonies, it was only Bishop Hannah Faal who showed up, what happened to the other denominations? I would assume they are in line with their vows; to always do what is right in God’s name and fear no man. Good for them because that is how it should be and not the very lowly and disgraceful manner in which the Methodist Mission leader went on to ask for God’s blessings for a heartless murderer and the most corrupt Man on the planet. I hope that my fellow Christians will join me in condemning this betrayal of the moral teachings of the Church. The Church must always side with the moral truth, the poor and the most vulnerable in society. In the name of the Holy Spirit, we pray that sanity, justice and equal treatment is restored to Gambia sooner rather than later.
Thanks for the space.
