In Loving Memory:
I am deeply touched by the outpouring of prayers and messages of condolence from all over the world on the sudden passing of my dearest mom. All your prayers and well wishes filled the void and the sense of loss on this insurmountable loss of a woman that meant the world to me. The messages are a testament of what this incredible woman always called “the love and care you offer to people shall come back to you when you need it the most”... Thank you all so very kindly particularly to my family for being there during these difficult times.
In loving memory of my friend, my inspiration and my hero – the person who taught me so much in life….. I say you are physically gone but will forever be with me in spirit. You taught me how to be a man when no men were around, you taught me to always put family first, to love, care, open my doors and to share with the little God gives me… that it is not how much one has but how much you can share with your fellow human beings. That when you share, Allah will always replace what you share with more…
Mom, you taught me to be kind to others, treat everyone with respect and dignity and to stand up for justice, equality and to uphold the moral principle of humility, sacrifice, fairness and courage to face the challenges of life. Growing up, I saw you stood up and fought fights that were not necessarily your fights, but fights for respect, human dignity and fairness. You instill in me an uncompromising principle of honesty, integrity and hard work. But more importantly you taught me how to be a man, how to treat and respect women and how to be a good husband and father… That it is not always about me but about family and others who may be less fortunate…
Although sometimes you may not have approved of my actions to speak up against injustice out of love and fear for the safety and security of a child; but deep down I know you approved of me standing up among men and be counted, that I should defend the truth and not be silenced in the face of injustice, that my country and my people needs me as much as I need them… And for that fight, I promise to never waiver, never compromise national interest over personal interest and to continue to add my voice loud and clear until my last breath when I will join you in dignity.
For these and everything else you taught me, I will forever be grateful as the fight for justice, equality, respect, humility, care, love and compassion for all is a legacy you left that I shall forever carry in your noble name until I join you in the most honorable of all places… May Allah welcome you in open arms and accord you place for the most dignified of all human beings … Rest in peace Daa… Gonlay maa moche Sowepulo…
