Dear Respected Brothers & Sisters,
I am appealing to your conscience, reaching out to your intelligence, counting on your patriotism and imploring you in the name of Allah Subhanahu Wataallah, let us not allow the name of Imam Baba Leigh to be erased from our minds and on the screens of our computers. The detention of this Gambian Cleric has only been prolonged by our continued silence and not by the dictatorial regime of Yahya jammeh. What is needed now is to use the last straw to break the camels back, a complete renewal and collective revivalism of Imam Baba Leigh’s name echoing it loudly enough so as to leave the international community with no other alternative but to join in calling again for the immediate release of this Cleric.
Remember our collective best might still not be enough, and in all honesty we have not yet exhausted all efforts. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, Once said “The greatest tragedy is not the evil man’s brutality but the quietness of the goodman”. In the very beginning we all raised our voices for the release of Imam Leigh, is it not too quiet now? Our quietness poses to be the greatest tragedy. With that pen in your hand keep writing, you have got the words in your tongue keep speaking to the media.
Any written article today in this regard would be a good contribution to this cause and our struggle.
This was just a reminder.
